Paint Prep Technician – North Branch, MN 

Schwing Bioset, Inc. (headquartered in Somerset, WI) is a pioneer in developing high performance, material handling solutions dedicated to serving the wastewater, mining, and industrial markets with specialized products and engineered solutions. Our products are presently installed in a wide variety of custom engineered and highly specialized applications including wastewater treatment plants, mines, power plants, dredging, refineries, pharmaceutical facilities, and chemical processing plants in both US and international markets. SBI is seeking a full-time Paint Prep Technician in our North Branch, MN, location. 

Objective: Responsible for ensuring all parts are properly prepared for the painting process, according to standard work instruction and quality standards.

Essential Functions: 

• Debur product and removing welding spatter using power/hand tools.
• Apply chemicals to clean the product and then complete an undercoating process, both using a spray wand tool.
• Ensure proper surface preparation prior to painting, taping, and plugging.
• Load and unload parts/components to be painted.
• Perform rework and repair tasks.
• Perform filter maintenance.
• Label finished parts.
• Perform quality checks.
• Utilize proper safety techniques.
• Uses computer system to manage paint specifications.
• Move to other work areas to support production needs. (Cross-train)
• Effectively assist and train new/current associates.
• Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.
• Other job duties as assigned.
• Conduct all your activities within the guidelines of all company policies, procedures, and work rules.

Qualifications:

• Must have High School Diploma/GED.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Mechanical ability to use sanders, wire wheels, power washer, and other equipment such as forklift and overhead crane system.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.

• Must be flexible to work extra hours when needed.
• Deftness and attention to detail.
• Able to adapt quickly to changing work environment and hours.
• Ability to safely lift up-to 50lbs.
• Repetitive hand movement, reach with both hands and bend as necessary while standing for long periods of time.
