Municipal Products, Mining Products & Industrial Products

Since 1983, Custom Conveyor Corporation (CCC) has designed, manufactured, and installed over 3,000 material handling systems worldwide to allow general industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities to efficiently convey material.

In 2020, Schwing Bioset acquired substantially all of the CCC assets and continues to manufacture and test all of our conveyor products or systems in our own plant for quality assurance and system compatibility.

Our goal is to engineer the best belt and screw conveyor solutions for each individual application with the highest quality workmanship at the most economical price.

We have a variety of conveyors available to fill your material handling needs. The conveyors we currently offer include:

•Shaftless screw conveyors
•Shaftless vertical conveyors
•Shafted screw conveyor
•Trough belt conveyors
•Sidewall belt conveyors
•Drag chain conveyors
•Bucket elevators
•Pivoting & stacking conveyors
•Shuttle conveyors

Shaftless spiral conveyors eliminate the central shaft and allow a much higher fill rate resulting in lower rpm’s, more efficient conveying, and less wear. Without a shaft, no intermediate or end bearings are required. The trough liner is the spiral’s replaceable bearing surface. The only machined bearings in a shaftless are in gear reducer. This allows for direct connections and optimizes layout design flexibility. End-to-end and side connections not possible on shafted screw conveyors are common solutions available in the shaftless design. Vertical shaftless conveyors are available in a single unit up to 50 feet and systems over 100 feet in elevation gain.

Custom Conveyor’s open, shaftless spiral design makes these conveyors ideally suited to efficiently convey stringy, sticky waste materials that vary in size, volume, capacity, or dry solids content. They work extremely clean and efficiently for conveying materials such as:

  • Sludge
  • Screenings
  • Scum/FOG
  • Pulp recycle rejects
  • Slaughterhouse waste
  • Lime sludge
  • Grit
  • Paper pulp
  • Food processing waste
  • Wood chips

Superior Steel + Superior Forming = The Highest Quality Spiral.

Our shaftless spirals utilize hot-rolled, high tensile, high yield strength, micro-alloy flat bars that produce a spiral extremely resistant to fatigue, crack formation, and growth. They are cold-formed into a spiral by our modern “precise captured CNC winding technology” that forms both diameter and pitch simultaneously and holds higher tolerances than any other spiral manufacturer.

Other spiral manufacturers offer crude 30-year-old “loose pulled method” spirals that vary greatly in diameter and pitch, which lead to spiral fatigue plus uneven liner wear and premature failure.

Shaftless Screw Conveyors are ideal for vertical conveying. Since they do not require a non-drive end bearing this eliminates the need for high maintenance bottom shafts and seals on a pulling shaftless vertical conveyor. A shaftless vertical feed is obtained by a directly connected pushing shaftless conveyor which optimizes layout design flexibility. Vertical shaftless conveyors are available in a single unit up to 50 feet and systems in excess of 100 feet in elevation gain.

Custom’s vertical shaftless conveyors have ideally suited spreadable wastewater dewatered sludge with a dry solids content of 18% or greater.

Our shaftless verticals are highly efficient in:

  • Power usage, space, conveyance, and equipment wear
  • Resulting in a virtually maintenance-free and highly cost-effective solution.

Shafted Screw Conveyors date to Archimedes and are still one of the most widely used and simplest devices for the movement of material. Shafted screw conveyors are compact and easily adapted to congested layouts.

Custom Conveyor’s Shafted Screw Conveyors efficiently convey dry to semi-fluid and free-flowing to sluggish materials. Screw conveyors are available in a wide variety of materials and US Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) sizes. Horizontal and inclined shafted conveyors are available. Special configurations include leveling, load-out, pivot, and stacker designs.

The XLM (Extremely Low Maintenance) Shafted Screw Conveyor Hanger Bearing is a conveying product unique to Custom Conveyors. This preferred shafted screw conveyor hanger bearing replaces the standard hard iron hanger bearing with machined roller bearings and mechanical seals. XLM has a long life with low maintenance and with the recommended self-lubrication system works well for long runs and trouble-free conveying. We design and manufacture our XLM Shafted Screw Conveyors with pride and confidence. All you have to do is install, turn on and let this workhorse conveyor run.

Our belt conveyors feature heavy-duty construction and utilize US Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) design for industry compatibility. We employ the highest quality components and fabrication methods to provide the client a high-quality product at an economical price.
We manufacture both sidewall and trough belt conveyors specifically designed for your industry. Belt conveyors are ideal for transporting municipal wastewater treatment bio-solids, sludge, lime sludge, screenings, or grit. Additionally, our belt conveyors are utilized to transport sand, cement, limestone, food products, ores, wood chips, coal, gypsum, fertilizers, chemicals, and a wide range of other materials in many different industries including:

• Water & wastewater treatment facilities
• Power plant/coal
• Pulp & paper
• Food
• Agriculture
• Bulk powder
• Pharmaceuticals
• Solid waste
• Mining
• Lumber
• Chemical
• Automotive

Trough belt conveyors are designed to leverage the rubber belt’s open frame and trough effect to contain the load of materials fully. Trough belt conveyors are the most widely used and efficient means of moving bulk materials because they are manufactured to:

• Convey high tonnage of materials
• Handle a gradually curved concave or convex incline path over long runs
• Convey horizontal and up to 28° straight incline depending on product
• Require very little maintenance

Sidewall belt conveyors feature integral corrugated sidewalls that keep the product on the belt. Multidirectional sidewall belt conveyors are an option to utilize one conveyor drive that changes from horizontal to an inclined plane and back to horizontal. They are ideal for conveying a wide range of products and are well suited for difficult applications as they:

• Utilize flexible Corrugated Sidewall that holds the product on the belt
• Maintain speed consistency allowing for high capacity conveying
• Work in various inclined, horizontal, and combination configurations
• Utilize optional cleats for higher incline applications

Our Belt Conveyors efficiently convey dry to semi-fluid materials. Belt conveyors are available in a wide variety of materials and sizes. Special configurations include shuttle, load-out plows, pivot, sandwich, and stacker designs.
