Schwing Bioset, Inc. is a fast-paced, growing company located in Somerset, WI, just outside Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. Schwing Bioset exists to pioneer and develop high performance, material handling solutions, and is dedicated to serving the wastewater, mining, and industrial markets with specialized products and engineered solutions. Our products are presently installed in a wide variety of custom engineered and highly specialized applications including wastewater treatment plants, mines, power plants, dredging, refineries, pharmaceutical facilities, and chemical processing plants in both US and international markets.

Primary Responsibility:

Primarily responsible for purchasing and sourcing. Looking for a qualified Purchaser/Buyer that thrives within a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Communicate with current and potential suppliers in a friendly and professional manner
• Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from department manager
• Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders
• Verify vendor acknowledgments for purchase orders
• Compare, maintain and update vendor quotes
• Place intercompany purchase orders and monitor, expedite orders, and update prices
• Attend weekly department/interdepartmental meetings
• Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality
• Ensure that the manufactured product meets customer specifications
• Maintain documentation for production related activities for reference purposes

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
• 2-5 years’ experience with SAP required
• Familiarity with engineering prints/customized parts and metal fabrication
• Familiarity with raw steel purchasing, and material types
• Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask
• Knowledge in (and/or ability to learn) hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and PLC’s not required, but a plus
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
