Fabrication Machining Supervisor- Somerset, WI
Schwing Bioset is seeking a skilled Fabrication-Machining Supervisor to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced manufacturing facility located in Somerset, WI. Responsible for managing day-to-day fabrication and machining processes and team to ensure compliance with the high company standards of quality, reliability, safety, and customer requirements.
Essential duties include:
· Plan and determine optimal utilization of fabrication and machining team and equipment to meet manufacturing goals.
· Lead the team to ensure quality products while adhering to safety standards.
· Increase productivity by using accurate fit-ups, proper use of welders, weld sizing, effective weld station design and elimination of rework and scrap.
· Train the team in proper techniques, details of materials, equipment, and fabrication techniques.
· Instruct, coordinate, and evaluate jobs and performance.
· Determine if new machines or methods are needed and determine ROI.
· Adhere to tight schedule and within budget.
· Coordinate fabrication and machining with engineering and other departments, as well as with vendors and shippers.
· Ensure that customer, statutory, standards, and internal requirements are met or exceeded.
· Analyze manufacturing data and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
· Identify and utilize methods of making the manufacturing process more efficient and effective (reducing waste, using lean, etc.).
· Direct corrective action of any problems that may arise; develop and implement preventive actions.
· Manage all aspects of fabrication/machining shop work requirements including order flow, scheduling, quality control, and personnel.
· Maintain accurate production and quality control records.
· Coordinate with other department managers and supervisors, sales team, project managers, transportation, and purchasing departments.
· Manage and control consumables and shop supplies in accordance with the company Quality System and Consumable Manufacturer requirements.
· Administer and document training of employees on new processes and techniques.
· Interface with third-party inspectors for quality requirements.
· Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
· Provide bid/cost estimates for sales and engineering teams.
· Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies/procedures for workers.
· Manage multiple locations.
· Conduct all your activities within the guidelines of all company policies, procedures, and work rules.
Requirements:
· Must have High School Diploma.
· 2+ years experience in fabrication shop with a mechanical background and good understanding of weld process in manufacturing environment.
· 2+ years experience in machining preferred.
· Specific knowledge of roll forming, sheet metal or metal fabrication.
· Prior experience in production planning and scheduling is preferred.
· Supervisory experience preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
· Able to walk/stand several hours during an 8-hour shift.
· Knowledge of fabrication safety requirements.
· Must be flexible to work extra hours when needed.
· Good organization skills and can multi-task under tight deadlines.
· Self-starter with great attention to detail who can work in a fast-paced team environment.
· Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
