Traveling Field Service Technician 

Schwing Bioset, Inc. (headquartered in Somerset, WI) is a pioneer in developing high performance, material handling solutions dedicated to serving the wastewater municipality markets with specialized industrial pumps and biosets. At this time, we are seeking candidates with high industrial mechanical and electrical ability with experience in nationwide air travel for work. This position would regularly be away from home M-F (traveling via airplane to locations). Travel 75% of time- scheduled 4wks on and 1wk/off. Fly out Monday to return Friday.

We are actively seeking a motivated and responsible Field Service Technicians with strong mechanical and electrical abilities to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and is willing to air and car travel as a “Road Warrior (75% travel),” you will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for our products across various locations at client sites. Travel is M-F: home on the weekends. MUST specify work travel experience (highlighting air travel) on resume or cover letter.

Responsibilities:

• On-Site Service: Travel to customer sites to install, maintain, and repair large industrial mechanical equipment and pumps.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure optimal functionality.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and extend the lifespan of machinery.
• Customer Interaction: Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries or concerns.
• Technical Support: Provide remote technical support when not on-site, assisting customers with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Documentation: Maintain timely and accurate records of service activities, including service reports, equipment logs, and customer communication.
• Training: Conduct training sessions for customers on the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Road Warrior Mentality: Embrace the responsibility of frequent travel, adapt to different environments, and maintain a strong sense of responsibility and accountability. 75% travel.

Cualificaciones:

• Proven current experience as a traveling Field Service Technician, with a focus on industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose, repair, and inspect hydraulic systems.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head. Frequent walking/climbing ladders – all to be performed without limitations. Must be able to bend/lift/squat/move 50+pounds. Work in all weather conditions. Work in construction areas. 
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Meet the travel schedule and work independently.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance. Background and fitness for duty check is required.
• Technical degree or certification in mechanical engineering or a related field is a plus.
