Objective: Leads welders, performs all types of welding, inspection of parts, and provides direction to others on the fabrication team.
Essential Functions:
- Leads team of welders by monitoring the assigned work activities of the team.
- Ensure assigned work is done efficiently and meets productions deadlines and standards.
- Provides feedback and direction to team.
- Thoroughly trains team members as needed.
- Works from drawings and/or work instructions, set up parts and/or major components and using appropriate cutting and abrasive devices, prepare the components for welding.
- Locates and measures to and from the correct surfaces and provide detailed inspection information regarding the surfaces identified and specified on the provided work instructions.
- Understands distortion and heat input controls and measurement as well as correctional methods.
- Uses suitable tools to properly contour weld parts and components to match complex and close tolerance configuration requirements.
- Provides recommendations and general production process improvements.
- Proficient use of basic hand tools such as grinder, cut-off wheel, and magnetic drill.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure.
- Experience in layout, measuring, and fitting metal components.
- Must be able to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints and weld symbols.
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
- Performs any other associated job-related duties as assigned by management.
- Conduct all your activities within the guidelines of all company policies, procedures, safety, and work rules.
Cualificaciones:
- Class A Certification.
- At least 3-5 years welding experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in TIG, MIG, and MMA techniques.
- Experience with electrical or manual tools (saws, calipers, squares, etc).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to influence a team.
- Understanding of applicable OSHA standards and/or knowledge of safety policies and best practices.
Supporting Qualifications:
- Must be flexible to work extra hours when needed.
- Deftness and attention to detail.
- Able to adapt quickly to changing work environment and hours.
- Must have High School Diploma.
- Ability to safely lift up-to 50lbs.
- Repetitive hand movement, reach with both hands and bend as necessary while standing for long periods of time.
Classification: Full-Time Non-Exempt Status
