Schwing Bioset is on the lookout for a detail-oriented, proactive, and strategic Purchaser\u00a0to strengthen our Fabrication Team in Somerset, WI. If you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are passionate about building strong supplier relationships, optimizing inventory, and ensuring top-tier product quality, this role is for you.<\/p>\n
As a Purchaser, you\u2019ll play a critical role in procurement planning, supplier negotiation, inventory control, and cost management. Your contributions will directly support project success, on-time delivery, and company profitability.<\/p>\n
Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with current and prospective suppliers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Create and manage purchase orders\u2014verify specifications, pricing, and get departmental approvals.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Track order progress, expedite deliveries, and confirm receipt of goods.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Proactively address shortages by reviewing and updating project shortage reports.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Evaluate and compare supplier quotes and pricing; update vendor quote records accordingly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Negotiate pricing and contract terms to maximize value and reliability.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Monitor product quality and ensure it meets company and customer standards.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities and new sourcing strategies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Provide regular purchasing recommendations to upper management.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Collaborate closely with inventory teams, engineers, and project managers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Maintain organized procurement documentation and support compliance with company policies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Drive process improvements to boost efficiency without compromising quality.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
High School Diploma required; Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business, Economics, Communications, or related field preferred.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
3+ years of experience with SAP or a similar MRP system is essential.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Familiarity with engineering prints, custom parts, and metal fabrication.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Understanding of\u2014or willingness to learn\u2014the steel industry.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Strong negotiation and communication skills; able to influence with confidence.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Proven ability to multitask under tight deadlines in a collaborative team environment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Willingness to work additional hours when required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
