Fluid Bed Process
Wet material is directly fed into the dryer eliminating the need to blend or pre-condition the incoming wet cake to overcome the sticky phase of biosolids. Eliminating this recycling also means that the extra screening, milling, conveying and mixing equipment required are eliminated entirely. A further important benefit of this approach is that it allows a higher level of automation and reduced operator attention.
Closed-Loop inert operating conditions at less than 3% oxygen concentrations provide higher inherent safety during start-up, operation, shutdown, emergency-stop, and even during stand-by or shutdown modes.
Excess inert gas is recovered for use in the auxiliary dried product cooling and storage.
Low 185° F operating temperature for all materials versus temperatures in excess of 200 deg F for other drying technologies.
Final product virtually free of dust without need for additional screening equipment.
Accommodates fluctuations in incoming dry solids content of the wet media without blending or pre-conditioning the material.
Low maintenance with few moving parts or mechanical components.
Start-up & shutdown times of less than 30 minutes - substantially shorter than other technologies.
Fluid bed dryer utilizes cyclones for dust removal eliminating the need for a baghouse and the associated maintenance, plugging and explosion hazard inherent to these devices.
